Ava Camacho '22 Recruiting Profile

What sets me apart from other Liberos is my energetic, fun but focused personality; strong verbal communication at all times; and sound leadership by example on and off the court. Of course in order to be an effective Libero, consistent serve receive passing and defense are a must, but it is all of the qualities stated above I believe make a well-rounded solid Libero. Since I am on the court 90% of the time as a defender, it is important to be tuned in to not only the volleyball (exercising high IQ of the sport) but being in tune with my teammates as well, always giving them positive verbal and physical cues to keep team energy up on the court and thus, execute and maintain momentum on our side of the court.

My goals are to play 1) collegiate volleyball and 2) start as a freshman.  I learned through the varsity volleyball team this year as a freshman that you have to earn that role by continuously playing over and beyond better than those in front of you. I believe I have great energy in the court and with my hard work ethic I will work hard to accomplish achieving team and individual goals. Please come watch me play and take a look at my videos!
