Ashley Nazario '20 Recruiting Profile

I will bring character & positivity to any team. I my dad has always told me that I have one of those infectious smiles & personalities. I have had to overcome a lot of adversity just to get where I am today. When I was a baby I was diagnosed with severe asthma & an immune illness. My low immune system would always trigger severe asthma attacks. I was hospitalized once or twice a year up until my fifth grade year. My parents have always told me that the one thing that made those sleep deprive nights sitting in the ER all night was my positive attitude and always smiling. I had gotten sick and admitted to the hospital the week I was suppose to tryout for my first club swim. I was discharged from the hospital the day before my tryouts. I begged my parents to take me, they did and I made the team. I haven't slowed down since my fifth grade year. My health is tremendously better due to the conditioning I got from swimming. Last year I got the opportunity try something new with Water Polo and I fell in love with it. I still swim for my high school and my club team but most of my training time now goes to water polo. I play for three different teams which is my high school, my club team, and a travel club team out of Austin. I am a positive, determined and dedicated student athlete. I would love the opportunity to continue playing water polo while obtaining the best education.
