Kate Cygan '23 Recruiting Profile

I’ve always wanted to wrestle since I was a kid. I would watch shows and movies that had people wrestling or fighting and I always wanted to be like them. When I finally got the chance to wrestle, it was hard for me at first to understand the moves. 

Every day on the mat I’ve worked hard because I wanted to get better. I know perfection isn’t possible, so I will continue to work hard every single day on the mat to be the best that I can be.

But wrestling isn’t my only passion. I‘ve always loved helping people and showing them compassion because I know that not everybody has an easy life. 

At my school we have this program called PEOPEL Tutors. It is a PE class that partners people with disabilities and without them.  It is by far my favorite class and I would like to pursue my career to teach high school children with special needs.
