I started wrestling at 14. I had no family to introduce me into the sport. The first tournament I ever went to as a spectator was the state finals. After I watched a couple girls compete, I knew that’s what I wanted. I strive for success every time I step onto the mat, whether it be a match or just practice. Wrestling for me is a teacher but also a friend. It has taught me self discipline and hard work ethic. Wrestling has also helped me and some of my close friends through some very hard times. I am a very hard worker, and I like to believe that I am very coachable.
I enjoy helping in teaching the little kids to wrestle. There’s something in seeing little kids get excited when they figure out a new move that makes me want to coach. Becoming a wrestling coach would be amazing. I also have an interests in either becoming a pediatric surgeon, or a motorcycle mechanic. My mom is a paramedic and my dad’s a mechanic, so I have seen both sides of my interests.
I was taught that you only really deserve something if you work for it. You have to earn what you have. I would really like to become a collegiate wrestler to prove that all my hard work was worth something. Wrestling means the world to me, and to be able to show everyone why would be an amazing opportunity.
