This upcoming year (22-23) will be my 3rd year wrestling at the high school level. Before I participated in high school wrestling, I participated in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for 5 years under the tutelage of Saulo and Xande Ribiero in San Diego Ca. Thus my appreciation for the grappling arts. While at The University of Jiu Jitsu, I coached the teenage and littles classes.
I am comfortable and love the excitement right before a match. As soon as I place the band around my ankle, I am focused and ready to battle with my all and then some. My strengths are: cement mixers/cow catcher, bear hugs, low singles and headlocks.
I am a team leader, first and foremost. I inspire and motivate my team daily in training and in battle by giving support and encouragement. I am coachable and receptive to criticism. If I’m not at my best or best in the room, I will work excessively to be the best I can be.
In the class room, I enjoy learning new subjects and I keep my GPA as a priority.
My desires are to go to the college that best suits me, where I can study to be a dentist and do the thing I love most, wrestle. I am open to anywhere. I want my little brothers to look up to me. Hopefully they follow in my footsteps and wrestle in college too.
Thank you for reviewing my personal statement. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me for any questions farther information.
