My name is Caleb O'Hara and I live in Anchorage, Alaska. I spend a month and a half of my summers commercial drift gill net fishing in Bristol Bay Alaska on a 32 foot boat. We usually work for 16-20 hours a day and sometimes have to work a full 24 hours with only 4-6 hours of sleep. I do not touch land or shower for a month in this time period and we catch wild red salmon.
My life long interests have always been to help others. Currently, I am wanting to pursue an undergraduate in a type of public servant position such as firefighting, criminal justice, etc. Once I finish up with my degree and wrestling, I want to enlist in the Air Force and get certified as a firefighter to help my country. Then my next life goal will be to become a federal firefighter. My long term goal is to hit my mid life crisis and help the oppressed as a "Free Burma" Ranger.
My main two college wrestling goals: 1. Place at the national level 2. Help my team foresee and achieve their goals
I took state my freshman and sophomore year, but my junior year I made it to the state finals. My freshman and sophomore year I led my teammates to honestly look into their seasonal goals and to look at the work that they need to put in to reach those goals. My junior year both of my practice partners took state while all three of us made the state finals. I swear by Proverbs 27:17, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another."
