I am a 5’8”, 150 lb wrestler from Newton South HS in Newton, MA. I have a 4.0 GPA and a 1520 SAT score. I wrestled at 126 my first two years, 138 my junior year, and plan to wrestle at 138 senior year, and 141 or 149 in college. I started wrestling my freshman year, and despite my lack of talent (I went 5-8), I was extremely passionate about the sport. I dedicated myself to getting better and came back my sophomore year to go 26-8. After that season, I was named Most Improved, and more importantly, elected to be captain for my Junior and Senior years. I missed most of my Junior year with an injury, and I did not place at states. However, this has not discouraged me and I have high aspirations for next year and beyond.
Despite only starting as a freshman, I've shown strong improvements every season, and I believe I can continue that trajectory in college to become an Academic All-American. I challenge myself with the toughest partners available, both at school and in the clubs I train at in the off-season, and look forward to continuing to improve in the college wrestling room. My passion for wrestling, and especially the community that it builds, has only increased as I have developed, and I look forward to continuing this trajectory in college.
