Carlos Guzman '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Carlos Guzman and I'm a hardworking Student athlete. I'm truly dedicated to the sport of wrestling. I'm an athlete who knows what it takes to be a great wrestler that can win National and even World titles. One of my skills that I pride myself on is movement on top, I'm able to control and work the guy out for some back points and a pin. My most important accomplishments were being nominated for team captain on my high school wrestling team during my sophomore year. I have been on the varsity wrestling team at my high school since my Freshman year. Knowing that I'm capable of wrestling in college makes me more passionate for this sport. What I can offer to a team is the promise to always work hard and never give up. I am the first to be in the wrestling room and on he mats and the last to be out.

When it comes to choosing what school I would like to go to, my options are open. I mainly am looking at colleges at most 3-4 hours from New York, that way in the event of an emergency I wouldn't be too far from home. It doesn't matter about the size or location; if I can receive a good education and can wrestle competitively I will be content. My top two choices for a major as of right now is either Pre-Med or Criminal Justice. However, my major may change over the course of the rest of my high school career.

A goal of mine is to make an impact on the team and to be an example to those after me. Knowing at the end of the day that I made a difference and tried my hardest.
