My name is Alex Isopo and I started wrestling when I was 8 years old. I began wrestling because I was a small unathletic child that got bullied for these qualities. My goal then as a wrestler was to be able to get stronger, defend myself and be good at a sport. Who knew my love for wrestling would grow and become one of the most important parts of my life.
I feel I will be an asset to any team I join because of my love and dedication to the sport of wrestling. I put my all into every practice, meet, and competition. I love the sport of wrestling and try to get better at every practice.
My goal for this year is to continue to become a better wrestler and make it to the counties and state championships. I am a leader on my high school team and will continue to help others improve their skills as a teammate and wrestler.
My academic goal is to improve my GPA and put my all into my studies so I can continue growing as a student both in the classroom, on the mats, and in everyday life.
Because of Covid we did not have a wrestling session late year when I was a sophomore. My best high school accomplishments were being the only freshman on the varsity team, and qualifying for the county championship as well as qualifying for the NYWAY state championships.
