I'm willing to work hard both individually and as a teammate. I've always felt that my athletics and my academics are equally important, and I've learned how to balance the responsibilities that come with both. I've been a member of the varsity team at my high school since 8th grade and I've had the opportunity to train with some amazing athletes. I've learned from them, and they've helped me not only to evolve into a stronger wrestler, but a more effective leader.
While I've played a multitude of sports over the years, I naturally honed in on wrestling for a variety of reasons. It allowed me the freedom to develop myself athletically in a way I have genuinely enjoyed. There is always a new challenge, a new competitor and there is never time to be lazy.
From second grade, I have been fortunate enough to be watching and training, side-by-side, with wrestlers who are some of the best in the country. Being in the gym every day with these teammates has afforded me an invaluable experience. I have come to learn the importance of keeping a solid balance between working hard, staying humble and maintaining a strong level of confidence.
I'm extremely excited as I learn more about specific college opportunities that offer dynamic experiences for students like me to continue growing and learning.
