I started wrestling as a youth in 2014-15 school year. I practiced with my school's youth program, which was mostly boys. I competed in the NYWAY girls tournaments and even when to the NUWAY Nationals in Michigan. I continued to wrestle through 2017-18. We moved out of the district in my freshman year, sadly the next year they started the girls wrestling program. My old coach worked with the school and they were initially resistant to merging with my current high school. Finally, for senior year they allowed it. I have enjoyed this new change to freestyle and hope to continue on with wrestling in college. I love to wrestle, not just to win but to become a better athlete mentally and physically. I simply enjoy my time out on the mat. It’s my favorite place to be!
