I’m a Carolina kid with Midwest roots. My dad was born and raised in Michigan and I hear about that everyday. The first time I ever wrestled was in Colorado Springs, I was so young (5 or 6) that my boots had Velcro and not laces. I had an older brother that wrestled and it was pretty much beat into me every day. Every time he learned something new, I was the demonstration dummy for dad. I fell in love with wrestling when I realized it was truly an individual sport. I knew that my outcome affected the team but there were only two of us that could affect the outcome of the match. Win or lose, it was on me. I’ve grown a lot over the past few seasons, learned to be patient and wrestle the match that’s happening, not the one I played out in my mind prior to the whistle. I work hard and I want to be the best I can be in the short time I have left. I know wrestling won’t last forever, and I want to take advantage of every opportunity I want to be the best I can be and help win a team championship before I’m just telling old stories. I don’t mind hard work and I embrace a challenge. I’m looking for a program and coach that wants to invest in me and my strengths as much as I want to help the program be successful.
