Baseball is, and has always been, a huge part of my life. Throughout the years, it has given me many outstanding qualities that would make me a strong asset to your team. I would bring mental toughness, strong moral character and talent to your team. I have a positive attitude and I can follow and take direction well. Having played baseball since I was 4, it has grown to be a major part of who I am. My 7th grade year I grew more than 5 inches, that Spring my coach decided to change my position from catcher to pitcher. Pitching came naturally and I fell in love with it.
I have played on many all-star, travel and summer ball teams during my baseball career. This has always allowed me to work with a variety of coaches and coaching styles, meet new teammates who have become lifelong friends, all while continuing to work on my game. This past summer, I had the opportunity to play with teammates who were entering college as well as players currently playing college ball. This opportunity was one that offered me tremendous growth and I am looking forward to finding a school that will allow me to have the experiences that most of my teammates were having; a well-rounded college experience consisting of a great education while playing baseball at the college level. When I entered high school, I was playing basketball and baseball while maintaining a 3.9 weighted gpa. I am a varsity athlete in both sports, but for my senior year I am focusing on baseball only. I am already seeing the positive effects of this focus. This Winter League season (Fall Ball), I am seeing tremendous improvement in my form, accuracy and pitching speed (I have been throwing 85-90 mph for now). Having baseball in my life has not only helped me grow as a person and an athlete, but is what helped me fill the gap during the years that my dad was deployed to Afghanistan. I am sure that all of these experiences have lead me to be the person and athlete I am today.
I will bring many great qualities to your team. I am easy going, positive and have taken on a leadership and mentor role with some of our younger players. My coaches are recognizing my hard work and I have always been referred to as a player who is coachable. I am one of the youngest in my grade, with a late June birthday, but have always been one of the biggest (I am now over 6”5” and 200 lbs). I am looking for a school that can help me financially while allowing me to have the opportunity to get a great education and fulfill my dream of playing college-level baseball. I know I would be an asset to your team as both a leader and pitcher.
