I have loved playing baseball for as long as I can remember and have dreamed of playing in college for almost as long. I have been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to play at Cooperstown, participate with various travel teams, including West Point Military Academy and play under a former major league player. All these experiences have not only increased my skill level, but also my passion for the game. Although I feel that both my skills in baseball and desire to play would make me an asset to any team, I believe that my many other attributes would make me an invaluable addition not only to a team, but to any college I attend as well. In addition to baseball, I also play basketball which helps to keep me conditioned during the winter months. I consider myself to be a team leader and have learned valuable leadership skills from participating in our high school JROTC program where we are trained in to be disciplined and respectful. I also have learned how to be accepting and tolerant and learned many life lessons from working as a camp counselor for the past 4 years at a camp for children with disabilities. Although I don't yet know what I would like to pursue for a career, I am interested in the sciences and would very much like to work with animals in some capacity. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to become part of a real team and look forward to utilizing my skills and personality to benefit both sports and my collegiate environment.
