My greatest success came early on capturing the Oneonta Little League regular season and tournament title without losing a single game. This taught me two valuable lessons.
First, it taught me nothing comes easy. Just two years prior our talented but very young team only notched 3 wins.
The memory of that season served as motivation for the perfect season we had just 2 years later.
It also taught me to not be satisfied. I have not come close to attaining that type of success. I don’t want to look back one day and say my greatest baseball achievement was in Little League. This makes me want to play baseball for as long as I can so I can create new and improved memories.
The college that I am fortunate enough to go to will have a baseball player that understands how much of a privilege it is to play college baseball. I will treat it as such. Working every day and seeking out ways to get better. As much as baseball excites me I’m equally excited about getting a college education. My family has led by example showing me the numerous ways a college education has helped them in their adult life.
I will be a student athlete that is always looking to grow and improve whether it be my first ever game or the last day of college. That is one of the many reasons I will be an asset to the team and the College as a whole.
