My name is Olivia Brand and I am a goalkeeper on my high schools varsity field hockey team and will be graduating in 2024. When I was around 10 years old, I started a youth hockey camp. When I started this camp, I used to play on the field only. Not knowing that I would eventually become a varsity goalie at the age of 16. I started off my first day as a goalie in 2018 when I was in 7th grade, I couldn't get enough of being a goal keeper. I have been a member of a local club team ( Southern Tier Storm) for about 2 years now and I have had the opportunity of traveling two and half hours away every Sunday, to practice. This has lead me to tournaments all along the east coast and has helped further develop my skills and passion for field hockey. Every day I strive to be a stronger and more confident player. I have a lot of experience with playing on a varsity team, even though I started on junior varsity in 10th grade. I got pulled up to be on varsity by the coach and have grown to love being on the team. Playing with older girls has sharpened me not only as player but also a person. I am interested in continuing my field hockey career to the collegiate level. I am looking for a program not to far away from home, but one that will challenge me academically and athletically. My coachable and competitive attitude and desire to succeed would make me a great addition to your team! Thank you, Olivia Brand.
