My name is Kaelin Fish. I have been playing field hockey for 8 years. I began playing the position of goalie 4 years ago. Funny story on how that happened! At the end of year youth lacrosse picnic (I was a youth goalie that year), my field hockey coach told my mother she was worried about there not being a field hockey goalie for the fall. My mother said, “I bet Kaelin would love to do it!” However my mother never gave me the memo and to my surprise on the first day of field hockey, my coach excitedly handed me goalie gear! Somehow, moms inherently know their kids, and I fell in love with being a goalie!
I have enjoyed my high school experience so much already! I have volunteered at respite nights with our elementary schools, helped out at other sporting events, and even assisted directing the middle school drama club musical for the last two years. I was recently recognized as a scholar athlete for my 2022-2023 school year. I have also been selected for my high school’s Leadership Training Program and will work this summer with my principal and other school leaders to help prepare incoming freshman. I have been able to experience all of this while maintaining my grades and a part time job. I feel it is important to help contribute to the cost of my field hockey experiences.
In college, I would love to study exercise science or sports medicine to lead to a degree in physical therapy or athletic training.
