My name is Bri and I am 16 years old. I started playing field hockey in 7th grade after deciding to try something new and signing up for the team in gym class. I had no idea the opportunities, friendships, experiences and life lessons that would come from this sport. I have been playing for 5 seasons on my high school team and 4 seasons for my club team. I hope to play in college as the end of my high school career approaches; the passion I have for this sport is not ready to end after 1 more high school season left.
Through field hockey, I have learned how to communicate and collaborate with people in efficient, respectful, and effective ways. Being on a team has taught me how to manage my time and balance all areas of my life. Organizing time between family, athletics, academics, and extracurriculars as a result of taking on this sport has made me a more well rounded person with the ability and willingness to take on new challenges. These challenges mean learning and growing which feeds the cycle of evolving as a person in all areas of life.
