Matthew Fitzsimons '23 Recruiting Profile

I am ranked co-player if the year for NY state class A as the starting senior QB for Somers HS in Somers, NY.   I am currently 6’ 5” and 190 lbs. 

I have been starting QB for 2 years, both seasons going to the NYS Class A championship.  This season we are an undefeated 12-0 and ranked #1 in the state (public school).  So far my stats this year are as follows:  12-0 record. 128-177  Comp/Attempts for a 72.3% completion percentage.  2,017 yards passing.   27 TD passes & 10 TD runs (37 total TDs).  I am averaging 15.75 yards per completion.   

My junior and senior year combined stats are:  24-1 record. 227 - 323 Comp/Attempts for a completion percentage of 70.27% .  3,776 passing yards and 57 total TDs. 

I am also an excellent student, currently with a 4.0 GPA while continuing to carry a challenging AP and Honors class schedule.  

I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and football field. I would like to pursue a university with an outstanding academic reputation in the field of business. Ideally, my athletic environment would be one where I could make an immediate impact on the team. I believe my best fit would be at the D1 level although I will absolutely consider high academic D2 schools.
