I have been playing sports since I was 5 years old. I was recognized as a stellar regional swimmer until the age of 14 as a 100M butterfly; and I played on the #5 nationally ranked soccer club until the age of 13, I chose to focus more of my attention on basketball because of my overall and passion for the sport. I aspire to play basketball on the collegiate level and have dedicated my time and efforts on improving my overall skill set; while building strength and conditioning so that I can compete on any level. Like most aspiring players, my first choice is to play Division I but ultimately I know that only my talents coupled with opportunities will either make that possible but more importantly, I just want the opportunity to share in the collegiate experience. My father is a former Division I player and he has instilled in me an overall work ethic and more importantly coachability as cornerstones for being the best player I can be.
I have two younger siblings and my parents have always stressed and emphasized the importance of education as it is the lifelong tool needed to achieve any and most things in life. I currently hold a 3.5 GP where I am in 3 AP classes and 3 Honor classes and through sports I have learned a level of discipline and focus that definitely carries over to the classroom and my studies. I would like to attend a university that will continue to challenge me academically and helps me grow and mature as an individual. I am also very interested in a university that has a strong relationship with it's extended community and offers opportunities for me to foster new rewarding relationships and friendships.
After completing my Junior year as the starting point guard and leading or being second in all offensive categories (1st in Assists; Steals; 3pointers; and 2nd in scoring and rebounding) but my biggest achievement was being named All-Defensive player for the county and Defensive Player of the Year for my school. Since the seasin ended and despite COVID-19 I have continued to find ways to challenge myself to improve in all aspects of my game. I realize that I am fortunate that my AAU coach is a former Division I point guard but even more fortunate that he's my father and we have been able to workout during this time and sharpen my basketball IQ . I am truly enjoying the recruitment process and look forward to the opportunities that may lie ahead.
