My name is Ashley DeHennis and I am a focused and driven student and athlete looking to play and compete in basketball at the collegiate level. Most recently, my Junior year in High School opened my eyes to two things: one, learning the fundamentals in math and science can be an eye-opening experience and two, I really love playing competitive basketball.
Athletically, since middle school it has been my coaches that have instilled in me the thrill that goes along with being a competitor, and how to dig deep to produce the best out of myself and contribute. And, that most of that development happens off the court! A large part of my enjoyment in basketball is the team aspect of the sport. The personal growth, the mentoring, the encouragement, and the family that is developed through practice, games, and the overall struggle to better each other are all aspects that I love about the game.
Academically, I am interested in working towards a career that builds on my fascination and intrigue into the chemical and biological systems that are part of human physiology, and look to achieve a degree in Health and Nutrition Science as part of that progression. I would like nothing more than to build the base of my career as I continue playing competitive basketball in college.
