Dear Coach,

As a high school junior who has been playing golf for eight years, I recognize that I may not be the strongest or farthest hitter on the course. However, I have several qualities that make me a valuable addition to any team, including my leadership skills, commitment to hard work, and dedication to helping others.

As the oldest of three brothers and varsity captain, I have developed strong leadership skills that I can bring to your team. Additionally, my experience as a youth golf coach has helped me to not only improve my own game, but to also teach and assist others on my team.

I am always the one who stays long after practice, putting in 100% effort in my workouts. However, I also prioritize my education, consistently earning good grades and challenging myself with rigorous courses. I believe that a successful college athlete must excel both on and off the course, and I am committed to achieving success in both areas.

Finally, I am especially interested in attending a college where I can be part of a team that puts in the same level of effort on the course and in the classroom. As someone with a strong academic interest in computer science, I value a school that offers a strong education in addition to athletics.
