The game of golf has been a major focus of mine. It would be a privilege to prove my ability to fit on a college team and in a college community. I have many goals I want to accomplish in college both in golf and academically. I plan on using any opportunity I receive to achieve those goals.
As long as I can remember, a dream of mine is to play on the PGA Tour, but my current dream is to play golf at the collegiate level and use that to earn a degree. Academically I have an interest in communications, sports psychology and sports management.
The progression of my skill level and talent has gained acknowledgement and success due to my unyielding work ethic to get better. This has allowed me to a gain a well formidable value of confidence within myself. I wish to use this confidence to pursue playing at the college level. I will also continue to pursue my commitment to be open to receive as much coaching and information as possible to improve my swing and my game.
I also have gained recognition off the course from spectators and coaches due to my sportsmanship on the course. Our team recently received a proclamation from our county commissioners’ office for sportsmanship when our team asked our coach to let our team manager who has a permanent disability to participate in an actual match.
In short, if I am fortunate to receive an offer, I will work hard to be an asset to the golf team as well as work hard to be a good student and proud representative of the university or college I attend.
