Tylar Hoffert '21 Recruiting Profile

        My record as a student athlete is one that will not disappoint, I come from a family who pushes each other to be and achieve their best. I have the characteristics to be a great leader as a five-time captain of past hockey teams, and this years captain. Not only can I be a leader, on the ice I play a key role in my teams power play and penalty kill. On power play I use my size and strength to screen the goalie and bang in the rebounds, on penalty kill, I am willing to sacrifice the body to block shots. My parents expect that I put all of my effort into what I pursue, I have a reputation with all of my coaches, both past and present of being a hard worker and having the ability to be coached. I have been playing hockey for what is going on my ninth year, I have both the understanding of where to be in-game as well as the understanding of how certain plays work and for what reasons. I train hard both on and off of the ice being enrolled in a weightlifting PE class, as well as working on my stick-handling and shooting in my free-time. While in college I would like to also participate in AFROTC.

        I would like to pursue collegiate level hockey because it is an opportunity to continue to develop my skills as a player as I seek higher education. I believe it as also a chance to show to future employers your employability if you can maintain decent grades while being a apart of both AFROTC and the collegiate team. Thank you for your time.
