Dear Coaches,
My name is Blake Rothstein, I am a student athlete from Massapequa, New York. I have set my sights on playing college hockey since I began playing AAA for the New York Junior Islanders as a U12 forward. I also am extremely interested in playing junior hockey. My goal is to get a college degree as well as play hockey in the future.
I feel that playing AAA hockey has prepared me to balance the workload of academics with practice, games, and travel. I currently carry a 3.7 GPA as a Junior in Plainedge High School while taking advanced classes including college forensics and marine biology.
I believe that, because of my daily schedule, my organizational and time management skills are sure to help me in the future. My work ethic, leadership skills and respect for my teammates and opponents are characteristics that my teachers and coaches have often commented on.
I always work to better myself while helping to make others around me better as well. I always work my hardest to achieve my goals and give the absolute best I can.
I have been fortunate to be part of teams which have receive the titles of 2017 USPHL champion, a silver medalist in the 2018 Long Island Championship and a silver medalist at the 2018 Bauer Legacy tournament. I hope to be attending the U.S. National championships this year with the Junior Islanders.
I have attended tournaments such as the Quebec Peewee Tournament, CCM invite in Chicago, Beantown NAPS. Also, I will be playing along with my team in the AAA Honey Baked showcase in the Detroit this December.
I have also been selected to the New York State Evaluation Camp as well as the Lone Star Brahmas NAHL Futures and Main Camp. I have been working on what these coaches have taught me to help make me a better player and to push my game to the next level.
