My name is Luke Schur, I am a Sophomore attending Scarsdale High School. I have been playing hockey since I was eight years old, getting lessons on how to skate with my brother. I have always had the aspirations to play Division I, or Division III hockey. Ever since this past year I have been playing for one organization, tier II, and was consistently a top player on the teams. I finally reached out myself to coaches affiliated with tier I organizations and started the process of finding a new home. I called and emailed coaches myself and secured a position on the Jersey Hitmen 16u Elite hockey team. We are part of the USPHL 16u league. I am a good candidate for your hockey team because I consistently work my hardest on and off the ice. I am a leader, I have always made sure that the environment that I was in was working just as hard as I was, I never want to see my peers fail. I feel that I have a responsibility when I join a team that requires me to bring out the very best in every player, no matter who they are or how they treat me. I am different than other recruits in many ways, I challenge everyone around to push themselves to become better, I am always smiling and constantly have my head up, I am very smooth when I skate, and I will never give up. I know the little things that I have to work on to make me become a better hockey player and every day I get up and work on perfecting the imperfections so I can become the hockey player that I always have dreamed of one day becoming.
