Teamwork, commitment, and perseverance define my approach to life. I am an AP and Honors student at an academically challenging Catholic high school. I have a 4.2 GPA and I scored a 1220 on the PSAT in the fall of my sophomore year.
I earned varsity letters for both football and lacrosse in my freshman and sophomore years. I was the MVP of my varsity lacrosse team as a freshman and was the #1 ranked freshman midfielder for goals scored and #3 for ground balls in the State of North Carolina according to MaxPreps. I have consistently been one of the strongest players on my national travel team, even though I have played up at least one class year and have always been the youngest player on the team. My travel and school coaches unfailingly rank me as the most coachable player.
Lacrosse has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I became interested in lacrosse because my mom is from Central New York and is a graduate of Syracuse University and my neighbors who are 10 and 5 years older than me played lacrosse when they were teens and I was very young. I love the fast pace, contact, and strategy of lacrosse. I love playing both sides of the ball and pride myself that my defensive skills and offensive skills are equally matched.
While I am very proud of personal accomplishments and am constantly driven to improve and achieve my personal best, success of the team is what motivates me. The camaraderie and emotional bonds created by a team of men relying on one another has impacted every aspect of my life. The strongest friendships I have are the ones made on the field with my teammates and the most influential mentors in my life other than family members are my lacrosse coaches. Lacrosse has helped establish a sense of drive in my life that I may not have otherwise developed.
My goal is to attend the strongest academic institution that I qualify for and add value to that school’s lacrosse program in whatever way the coaching staff sees fit. I plan to study architecture or engineering and look forward to many achievements both on and off the lacrosse field. I will continue to conduct myself with honor and integrity as I work through the growth and challenges of my college years.
