Lacrosse has been a big part of my life since I was five years old. It has been a huge factor in developing me into the person I am today. Through lacrosse, I have learned the importance of hard work and effort due to the countless hours of practice time and game play. I have learned the importance of teamwork and listening to a coach to better grow and support the team. I have learned about strategy and how to make decisions at a fast pace while under pressure. Lacrosse has taught me about building lasting friendships and how to trust people, being fortunate enough to have played with many of the same coaches and teammates since my first days on the field. My greatest strengths as a player are my stick skills, my ability to anticipate a play before it unfolds, and my strength as a supportive team member. Throughout my sports career, I have been honored to receive a coaches award for teamwork and sportsmanship on three separate occasions. I believe my strength of character makes me a desirable member of any team I play for. In terms of athletics, I am strong, accurate, and determined. I am not afraid to be aggressive, but I know how to play smart. I do believe that my time on the lacrosse field has a direct relationship to my academic performance. At school, I am disciplined, goal-oriented, and conscientious. I perform best on academic activities that involve collaboration and hands-on experiences. Being able to play at the collegiate level would allow me to continue in a sport that I love, give me focus and structure for my experience there, and would allow to me continue to be part of a team, which is something that I very much enjoy.
