I started rowing in the fall of 8th grade and quickly realized how much I love the sport. Our school does not have a crew team so I was lucky that there is an organization nearby where I could learn the sport.
I have found my practices and coaching are inspiring me to be my best. I have made a serious commitment to rowing both on and off the water by focusing on my nutrition more seriously and pushing myself to move past the goals I set for myself. I consider myself a disciplined and driven athlete. In the past year, I improved my 2k erg time by more than 50 seconds at the Strong Islands Sprints in February. I am proud of this achievement yet looking forward to see what I can do in the coming year.
Our team at Oak Neck is like a family. We support each other fiercely and yet we are also extremely competitive with one another. I want to continue to row in college and hope that I can find a team that pushes me and supports me similarly to what I have now.
