My name is Joseph D’Adamo and my life as a 10th grader at Eastchester Highschool along with my life outside the classroom has been influenced by the sport I love and the sport I dream of playing in college, that sport is soccer. I have played soccer my whole life since I was five years old and it has shaped who I am, how I act, and who I have met along the way, even what my first job would be in my freshman year of high school. After first putting on that recreational league jersey as a young kid, I knew I wanted to become better and get to a higher level where soccer would be a major part of my life. I started taking soccer seriously and decided that one of my goals would be to play soccer while also pursuing my love for science and biomedical studies. I worked my way up through the ranks, eventually getting to where I am now. I got to a higher level team that I had ever played at and soon became the captain for some time, but I wanted more and I wanted to push myself to get better and join a better club. Currently I play at a high level club in the North East Academy League called FC Westchester where I hold an influential spot on the team and am pushing each day to better my team whenever we play. Playing as a center defensive midfielder, stringing our attack together and being composed on defense has been my role on the field and I am trying everyday to become better at my position and control the game every time I step onto the field. I have learned that if I focus and reach for a goal I can succeed in that aspect of my life, education, or sport. With my qualities both on and off the field I hope to further extend this goal by playing the sport I love in college while also pursuing my academic goals that I have been striving for during my career as a high school student and athlete.
