I plan to be a doctor with a background in genetic disorders. I know that academics are number one and one day I'd love to find cures for some of the medical disorders that plague my community. However, while I'm still young, I would love to swim in the Olympics. I don't think the two are polar opposites because swimming has and will keep me healthy and fit, which helps prevent disorders prevalent in my family such as heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension. I find that I really enjoy swimming above all athletics. Particularly, I love the fly, but recently have taken a step back to improve other strokes and to become a well rounded swimmer. Each one of my coaches have improved my swim performance and I respect their teaching methods. I find that listening to instructions are best. I've also been told I learn very quickly and have the ability to adapt to my surroundings. Although I haven't been swimming for many years, and just joined a club last year, I know now I will be swimming for the rest of my life. One thing I have learned from being on a few swim teams, is that I form bonds with the people around me and have been told I have inspired other class as well as teammates. I'll always give my best to help and motivate others. I will be a great addition to any college and team.
