From a very young age, I was exposed to tennis, as my parents and grandparents played the game on a regular basis. I started taking lessons and soon thereafter, gave up travel soccer to focus solely on tennis. Throughout my tennis and academic career, I have learned the importance of hard work and discipline and I have realized that persistence and dedication are keys to success in both tennis and life. Through tennis, I came to understand that the mental aspect of the game is just as important as the physical one. Tennis has taught me a great amount of self reliance and the ability to keep my composure in stressful situations that will help me in my future with tennis and life in general. During this past summer, I started playing in the 18's. I came in first, second, and fourth in the first three singles Midwest Level 3 tournaments that I played in. Additionally, I won one of those tournaments in doubles, as well. As I have grown bigger and stronger over the past few years, I have developed a big serve to go along with very strong groundstrokes and good court movement. As I continue to grow both physically and mentally, my desire is to compete at a high level in college. I look forward to being part of a team when I begin my college career. I am a funny, hard working, and good-natured person who would be a good addition to any team. I am aware that balancing school and college tennis will be challenging, however, I am ready and willing to take on that challenge.
