Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Lucas Duckstein and I aspire to do something including tennis. Now I am sixteen years old and have been playing tennis for 9 years.  Every chance I get to play tennis I try to give 100%  to possibly expand my skills. This makes me different from other recruits because I always try to find ways to improve my strokes and grow my shot repertory. I am currently 3rd singles on Manhasset High School's Varsity team.I feel that I am  an asset to any team because of my positive attitude and perseverance to improve - getting better at tennis is all I think about. I am respectful and look forward to feedback that I can add to my game. I am friendly and encouraging to my teammates, the vibe on and off the court is just as important to me as my time in a match.

  • Zeki Tukel
  • 4 years
  • My name is Zeki Tukel. I am a USPTR certified tennis coach. I was a national champion in Turkey and as a coach helped develop many champion juniors. I coached Yanki Erel who won Wimbledon juniors doubles and reached 16th place in the junior ITF World rankings. I coached Melisa Ercan who won under 14 Orange Bowl which is the most prestigious international junior tournament in the world. I came to United States with an O-1 Visa which is given to athletes and artists who achieve internationally recognized success. My recommendation letter has been written by legendary coach Nick Bollettieri. I started to work with Lucas Duckstein in 2018 and have been working with him since and oversee his development. He is a unique person in terms of his work ethic and discipline. He loves tennis and is ready to do whatever it takes to take him to next level. He stands out with his attitude among all the kids. It is these traits that led to his big improvement from day 1 we started to work. Seeing his improvement motivated him more and he became more disciplined and hard working. He is a team player and make others better by being a role model. He is a positive person and gets along with other players and coaches well. He is a good athlete and has explosive muscle type which is very important for tennis. He moves well and has good anticipation. He likes playing aggressive and dictate the points. His serve and forehand are his weapons. I think by time they will just get better. He continues getting taller and that will help his serves. I believe he will have a good college career as he will keep getting better and be a great fit as a team member. Lucas enjoys pressure and thrives when playing important matches as he played a lot of important matches for his high school team. He is a match player and will not shy away going for it when playing very important points. For all the reasons i mentioned above, I would give my recommendation to Lucas Duckstein that he will do a great job as college player and not only he will do very well but also make others around him better. Sincerely, Zeki Tukel 516 840 1914 [email protected]

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
