My name is Francesca Raimondi. I am currently a Junior at Manhasset High school where I live with my parents and older twin brothers.
Swimming has been a big part of my life from an early age. Ever since I was 4, my parents couldn’t get me out of the pool during the summer. I started swimming competitively when I was about 8 years old. I currently swim for Long Island Aquatic Club (LIAC) on the group High Performance. On a normal day to day basis, I am coached by Dave Ferris and Ginny Nussbaum. I train and compete with them 6 days a week for practically the full year. Along with LIAC, I swim with the Varsity Team at Manhasset High School. I have been on the team since I was in 8th grade and have been a state qualifier since freshman year in various events. I was also the County Champion in the 200 Freestyle in 2018.
I also have many interests outside of swimming, primarily painting and drawing. I have been in an advanced art class for about 2 years. I also spend a lot of my free time listening to music. Swimming has definitely brought me many of my best friends. We like to go get breakfast after mornings at the local diner and watch movies together. During the summer we go to the beach and spend our days tanning and swimming in the ocean.
My goal is to swim at the collegiate level. I’m interested in a school where I would be given an opportunity to excel not only in the pool, but in the classroom as well, a sort of perfect mix of athletics and academics.
I haven’t decided on a major yet but psychology is one of my areas of interest. The right swim team for me would combine high levels of performance coupled with amazing team spirit and determination.
Thank you very much in advance for any and all consideration.
