Jillian Zirkle '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jillian Zirkle, I am currently 15 years old and attend Northwest High school in Germantown, Maryland.  Softball is my passion and is the the only sport I play.  While I enjoy playing other sports for fun, no other sports means as much to me as softball. I played rec ball and tee-ball until I was 8, then moved on to play travel.  I dedicate most of my time to softball and practice at least 5 days a week including tournaments.  My drive for this sport has only grown over the years.  I am very competitive and hardworking and my goal is to play Division I softball in college.  In addition to travel ball I also play on the Northwest HS Varsity team, the Lady Jags. To play varsity as a freshman was an honor, to deliver my best on the field, I keep my attitude high and work on my mechanics.  In the past year I have worked to become a switch hitter and slap hitter.  I put in the effort and work to be able to do what my team needs to be successful.  I know how to help my teammates get back on track after certain plays, to come back from a mistake and keep focus.  My hard work in the classroom and on the field is to play in college, that is the dream.  I want to get the most out of my high school education to prepare me for college.  I have the drive and am willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish my dream of playing ball in college.
