My name is Kayley Eising. I started playing baseball at five years old in t-ball and then switched to softball when my town offered it when I was eight years old, and I've loved it ever since. I was honored to have made my high school's varsity softball team while I was still in middle school. I've met my best friends through my travel softball team and have had the opportunity to travel all over the US while playing in softball tournaments. Since softball has been such a huge part of my life, I can't imagine not playing the game, and that's why I want to continue to play softball in college.
Through softball, I've learned to work as a team member and be open to all different types of personalities, to be able to deal with adversity, and to be a leader. The confidence I built on the softball field led to my being voted as the class president and as the vice president of the student government in high school. I was also voted to be the president of the national honor society. I plan on bringing the leadership skills that I've learned in these roles to my college softball team, and I intend on leading by example.
Outside of softball, I have a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. My grades reflect my hard-work ethic. I learned about hard work through softball. One of my travel coach's mottos has always been passion, preparation, and perseverance. He preached to work hard and never give up, and by doing these things, you'll find success. I use this motto that I learned on the softball field everyday in the classroom, and I'm currently ranked 8th in my class. My goal is to graduate in the top 10 and then bring this work ethic with me to college and apply it in the classroom and on the softball field.
