Ella Hayes '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi! My name is Ella and I'm a sophomore at Scarsdale High School. I have been playing softball since kindergarten and I played for my school's varsity team freshman year (and will continue to play throughout my high school career). I can play anywhere on the field (including catcher), but specialize as shortstop and third baseman. Aside from my contributions on the field, I am a team player. I believe my energy, sportsmanship, and team spirit truly enhance my abilities. I am not only a dedicated to the sport, but am dedicated to my academics and teammates as well. Last year, my high school was faced with a roadblock, as our star pitcher moved out of district. In the absence of a pitcher on the team, I stepped up to fill the role. While this is not my position and I have little experience on the mound, I recognized that my team needed someone who could pitch strikes. I feel that this speaks to the sacrifices and effort that I put into my team and that I would continue to put in if I were to play on a collegiate level.
