Irelyn Spencer '22 Recruiting Profile

Being an influential part of a collegiate softball team family on and off the field. Graduating with honors and setting myself up for next phase of life (Med School).  Currently I am wanting to follow my mother's footsteps into the medical field.  

I am a highly motivated individual that has a foundation built around working hard in the gym and on the field outside of team practice.   Growing up in a home with a long standing coach helped establish those fundamentals in my mind.  Even though I am serious about my goals, I enjoy spending time with friends having a good time.  My teammates would say that I have a fun loving personality.  Been known to film a few Tik Tok's every now and again as well.

I feel I am different because coming from the Midwest, my parents put me in many situations where I was the new kid on the team. Traveling to play with other teams where I didn’t know anyone.  It forced me to be a better  communicator and teammate. Also assisted with the fact I have been coached by many different personalities.  This process also introduced me to the quality of players throughout the country.  

Time management is something else I take pride in. I have managed to achieve academic honors every year with all the activities and travel that come with it.
