Since 2nd grade I have been playing basketball. When I was small my parents and I installed a "Goalrilla" in the driveway and I have spent many hours out there working on individual skills. Coming up through grade school and middle school I was often the smallest player on the court. This has helped me as I have had to learn to use my skills and basketball IQ to compete effectively. Now I realize this, as I am coming into my own more athletically with increased size and strength.
My team comes first and will play what ever role is necessary to help them be successful; weather it be defense, passing, rebounding, setting a pick or scoring. My H.S. plays in NY State Section V Monroe County League and we play against very good competition. Every night we face future college players, and many schools in our league have solid D1 candidates. This has helped me prepare for my ultimate goal of playing in college.
I was a starter this year on the varsity and some times a starter last season as a Sophomore. This year our team faced a lot of adversity. We had many injuries to starters and learned to step up my role as a leader for the younger players who needed to step in.
This summer I will be playing for the Buffalo Titans in AAU competition. Melissa and Mick Kuberka (St. John Fisher U.) run the Titans club and my direct coach is Hannah Rehbaum (St. John Fisher U.)
Academically I am in Honor Roll, National Honor Society Member, and Foreign Language Honor Society, 93 average (and 4.0 GPA weighted, as I have challenged myself this year with 3 AP classes and 3 IB), also many honors classes along the way.
Women's basketball is very competitive at every level in college, so I know that I will need to continue to work and progress. Looking for the right fit, a program that envisions me contributing to their program and one that I will be given that chance.
Thank you.
