Goals:
Aspirations
As a 5’8 versatile basketball/team player I am a leader on/off the court. I am committed to trusting the process and passionate about the game on the court. I am confident on the court when running plays because I want to ensure that everyone is where they need to be when it is game time. A communicator ensuring that I keep my teammates engaged in the game. Encourage and inspire my teammates to work hard even when we are tired and under pressure in the game.
My athleticism gives me the ability to adapt to changes and know what to play and/or move my opponent, due to having an excellent basketball IQ. I have been playing basketball for the majority of my life. I make a point to be open/honest with my coaches in my communications and actions. If I don’t understand a play and/or position. I am going to ask my Coach to run through the play, instead of pretending that I know the play and where I need to be in the game.
As a student/athlete, on this basketball journey, I have made mistakes. However, I take ownership of my mistakes. Taking ownership has allowed me the opportunity to evaluate, learn, and correct my mistakes and not be a repeat offender. As a player, I turned my mistakes into lessons learned.
As a student/athlete, I always keep in the forefront of my mind that I am a student first before an athlete. My academic success is very important to me. I feel as if my academic success is a reflection of my work ethic on and off the court. I challenge myself to become a better student/athlete than I was the day before.
