Anna Webster '16 Recruiting Profile

As a senior at South Johnston High School I hold a GPA of 4.58 and am interested in the field of Physical Therapy.  My goal is to attend a university with an excellent undergraduate program for preparation to enter into a Doctor of PT program in the future.  In preparation I would love to earn a scholarship to play women’s basketball at the Division I level. 
Having played since an early age, the game of basketball has become an integral part of my life and I have become a much stronger person along the way due, in part, to the competitive drive that has been instilled in me by my coaches, teammates, parents, and family.  While ball handling and good defense has always been a big part of my game, I have always been most known for my shooting skills, even under pressure.  As a result, I have most often played in the shooting guard position.  Coaches have always told me that I have a keen sense of being able to “see the floor” and respond accordingly.  My calm demeanor allows me to perform at my best when under pressure and against stronger competition. 
As a freshman, I was fortunate to start on the Varsity team and was able to help carry my team to a Conference Championship and into the second round of the state playoffs in my sophomore year.   I was also awarded the 2013-2014 Two Rivers Conference Player of the Year award and was selected to the NCPreps 2014 All State Team. 
I have always been complimented by my coaches on being one of the most “coachable” athletes they have encountered and my coaches praise my hard work ethic and my ability to be a strong team player.  I possess a great deal of respect for my coaches; I am thankful for the gifts God has given to me and the values my family has taught me; and I have a strong drive to win and succeed on and off the basketball court.  If given the opportunity I feel I have much to offer to your team.  Basketball is a great team sport and I look forward to playing the game I love at the collegiate level while building strong relationships with my team members and coaches.
