Savannah DeCarlo '22 Recruiting Profile

Hi!! My name is Savannah DeCarlo, I'm 17 years old, and I am obsessed with this sport. I started playing indoor volleyball when I was in 4th grade and played club [indoor] up until this season when I decided to take my passion outdoor full-time. I had played summer seasons with Carolina Beach Volleyball Academy, but my focus up until last summer had been indoor. But, life happened and thankfully, brought me to the sand courts! And let me tell you, choosing to play beach volleyball is one of the best decisions I have made in my entire life. I have never had a passion for a sport, class, skill, or anything like beach volleyball. I did ballet when I was very young, swam for about 8 years, set for indoor teams, baked goodies on the weekends, and have been involved in a lot of other sports and events throughout my childhood, but nothing beats the thrill of beach volleyball. Whether it's staying 3 hours after practice to play some more Queens or the fun tournaments to new places, or the amazing friendships I have made in these past few months, I have never had such a drive for anything. As I seek to continue bettering myself and meet new people through this sport, I am ecstatic to find a way to foster my love for this sport for years to come!
