Hi, my name is Katherine West, class of 2022 at Franklin High School in Maryland, Golf MVP x 2 consecutive years. Golf has influenced me to work hard and to be patient. During my freshman year of high school, I made girls varsity golf and resulted to be the highest scoring novice girl golfer in my first high school match, winning the novice tournament.
This experience allowed me to grow as a student-athlete in various ways, such as becoming extremely determined and goal driven while being patient and observant. I have not only focused on improving my golf game but my mindset as well. The following season (sophomore year) I took on the position of girls golf varsity team captain. This experience has taught me the value of teamwork and the importance of leadership. This learning has not only improved my golf game but also allowed me to stay focused on my education. I have a 4.0 GPA and have participated in many extracurricular activities, such as Peabody children's chorus (Johns Hopkins University), Honors Orchestra (violin), competitive ballroom dancing, snowboarding and camp counselor training.
My educational goal for college is to study cellular biology/pre-med and go to medical school in order to become a doctor.
