Dear Coach,
At five years old, golf was a way for me to spend time with my dad. Some of my fondest memories are spending Saturday afternoons with my dad, learning all that I could about this amazing game. As I began to develop my game, I caught a glimpse of what I could accomplish. With hard work, dedication, and tenacity, I have always believed that anything I put my mind to, I can do. As I began to play in tournaments, my confidence grew. Of course, there were always rounds that I wished I could go back to change, but through failure and struggle, I have learned to stay in the present, and to never be fearful of success.
In my sophomore season, I placed as an all conference individual, as well as thirteenth in my conference during the NCISAA state tournament. Placing tied for twenty third overall, I am eager to continue to play, and unlock my complete potential as a player. I have played several tournaments on the Peggy Kirk Bell tour, as well as a win during a one day triad event with TYGA.
Through the game of golf, I have learned so much about myself. I am competitive, but I have learned patience, and finding a comfortable head space where I can play freely. I enjoy getting to know the people I play with, and making friends in the golf community. Although a little shyness can creep into my mannerisms, I have no issues being vulnerable to new people in order to genuinely get to know them. I love sports of all kinds, and I so enjoy being a competitive athlete. When I am not on the course or practicing, I am in the gym or in the pool, working on strength and conditioning. Although it can be challenging, balancing sports with a rigorous academic schedule has helped me manage my time wisely, and find the value in having an escape through sport. I hope that I would be able to serve you and your team as a collegiate athlete, both in the classroom, and on the course.
