Personal Statement

I envision my college years to be a personal growth period. My goal is to explore a Nursing/ Sciences Major that will position me well for Bachelors in Nursing. On the Ice, I plan to be a dynamic player and a positive influence on the team. As I grow physically and mentally throughout my University Hockey career, I will strive to be an asset to the defensive rotation. Most importantly, I will conduct myself with honor and respect on and off the ice, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects my team, my coaches and the school I attend.

Capitals Pre Seson Showcase

The Central Plains Capitals organization will be hosting the 13th edition of their Preseason Showcase and we are hoping to attract teams from the Manitoba Female U18 Hockey League, Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA Hockey League, Alberta AAA League, BC AAA League, Northern Ontario and possibly Minnesota. It is our goal to continue to provide a quality showcase for U18/U19 AAA players, it is the goal of the Central Plains Capitals organization to provide an opportunity for these outstanding hockey players to be highlighted in a first class showcase in a tremendous facility under the best conditions possible for them to compete and be watched by universities and colleges that offer Hockey Programs. At this time information letters/emails have gone out to over 170 USport, NCAA DI-DII-III, ACAC and ACHA Programs. Over the past three seasons we had 25-30 various Programs attend and scout the event along with the Team Canada Regional Scout. The number of universities/colleges watching players at the Capitals’ Showcase has increased x5 with the live streaming and archiving of the games via HockeyTV.

Focus on speed, agility, skating, passing, shooting and puck protection to enable you to showcase yourself. This will give you confidence to be the impact player you want to be. Small groups will maximize repetitions and feedback. We will work on individual puck skills enabling players to have more success in game situations.

Program of Excellence

The Female Program of Excellence is designed to provide high performance female players with the opportunity to develop advanced skills as well as an introduction to the concepts needed to play at an elite level. Players from the Program of Excellence go on to play at the CIS, NCAA and International level. Eligibility/Selection: Athletes are selected by the U18 Coaching staff utilizing scouting information from Hockey Canada and Hockey Manitoba scouting staff and club team coaching staffs. Athletes for the 2023 Female Program of Excellence must have been born between Jan 1, 2006 and Dec 31, 2007. For an athlete to be eligible for selection into POE they MUST be registered with a sanctioned program within Hockey Manitoba (AAA, AA, A or Sport School). Athletes that participate in the WWHSHL are ineligible for the Female Program of Excellence UNLESS they are also registered to a sanctioned minor hockey program.
