Personal Statement

What defines an athlete. Is it the skill? The physicality? The grit? To me, being an athlete is about determination. Sports has been apart of my life ever since I was little. Without it, I wouldn’t be the confident, hardworking, and determined person I am today. Not only does my character reflect amongst sports, but also my education. I can promise I will be a diligent college student as I value my education much. Being an honor student with a high GPA, I think it is reasonable to say I have strong work ethics. I try to challenge myself taking honors and AP classes, and succeed in getting exceptional grades. As well as teachers, coaches take notice to my tenacious personality. As an athlete, I thrive to be the most skilled player out there. I realized early on, like anything in life, skill is earned through practice. If it’s another thing I can promise you, I will always give 110%. From lacrosse to hockey, past coaches have all said this one thing : “she’s so coachable”. Receiving multiple awards, it has been made clear to me many coaches value this quality in athletes. I also value it as I thrive to grow, not only as a hockey player, but as a person. Why do I want to play college hockey? I want to play hockey amongst others who share the passion. And I want to forge memories I’ll never forget. What do I intend to do my future? I want to major in computer science and use my knowledge to change the world. I understand this next stage in my life will be hard, especially juggling school and sports, but I assure you I will make a great addition to your college. I will be a dedicated athlete and student, motivated to reach success. I will want to win, but moreover improve under your leadership and guidance. And you can count on me to motivate my fellow teammates. If you give me a chance, I promise I won’t be one to disappoint.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
