I was introduced to soccer in the 1st grade . From the moment I put my first set of cleats on, I was determined to get to the ball first and get it in the net . Last year in 9th  grade I had the opportunity to travel to Europe and play 10 games in Germany and Switzerland . That trip would have to be the highlight of my experience in soccer so far. Seeing that skill level and pushing myself in their style of play was super challenging. After returning home, I helped my team, The West Vancouver Rangers win the prestigious Coastal Cup and a bronze medal in the Province of BC . Soccer has taught me and made me a more confident player on and off the field .  Learning to adapt to new teams as I climb the ladder in the level of play, has forced me to become brave and its always great getting to know the girls .  Academically I have always been keen to learn and do well . My work ethic has been forced to be really organized because my parents and I travel 5 days a week , 75 minutes each way to practice or games . I usually get my work done in class. I’m sure this somewhat resembles the pace of a college athletic life so I’m excited that it’s preparing me for fitting into a collegiate spot.

"Mary-Beth is a great soccer player, she is super fast, aggressive and has a wicked shot with good aim. She’s very positive, always willing to learn, and strives for improvement. She’s a kind and funny person and a great friend. " Jessica Lau (Teammate) "Mary-Beth is a great player both on and off the field! Her greatest skills are her speed and strength, and Mary-Beth uses those skills to her full potential. On the field she is a hardworking, motivated, and competitive player. Off the field she is an amazing, funny, and helpful friend." Christine Singh (Teammate) "When Mary-Beth joined our team she made an immense impact immediately. Her hard working spirit in both practice and games brought a newfound energy to the team. She always wants to work hard, and her drive to do well is unlike anyone else I know. While she is extremely competitive, Mary-Beth is also one of the kindest and most friendly people you will ever meet. She is motivated to do well, not only on the field, but in the classroom also. Mary-Beth would bring all these capabilities and more to any new endeavour she chooses. " Kirstin Tynan (Teammate)

  • We made it to the provincials capturing a bronze medal . To Whom it may Concern: Re: Mary-Beth Mary-Beth has been training with the European Football School (EFS) at our year-around program, spring and summer camps for six years and has also taken part in several EFS tournaments and tours. She has an excellent attitude, a great personal motivation and is a very driven young athlete. Mary-Beth has a willingness to listen, learn and improve which makes her a valuable asset to any team and a player that any coach would value having on his or her team. Mary-Beth is a solid centre-forward/ attacking midfield player and can also play the outside midfield position. She is offensively minded and is consistent in winning the ball and taking the ball towards the oppositions net with great drive/speed. Mary-Beth is a soccer player with a great skill set. She receives the ball very well both on the ground and in the air, has good ball control and a strong shoot. She is strong in tackles in winning the ball and never backs away from any challenges. One of her greatest assets for Mary-Beth is her ability to make great runs behind the oppositions back line and take the ball directly towards goal. To improve her game, Mary-Beth should work on positioning and her softness on the ball. Mary-Beth in the past has played for EFS in a tour to Europe and has also gone to a few tournaments to California and Washington, this has enabled her to play/experience against different competition around thw world and still perform at her top level. Mary-Beth and her family have shown great commitment for these tours and tournaments. Mary-Beth is a confident person and player and it has been a genuine pleasure to coach her these past six years and see her development throughout these years. We have enjoyed having Mary-Beth in our program and we wish her much success in her future endeavours. If I can provide you with any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Regards, Amar Talic Coach & Co-director at European Football School UEFA 'A' Licenced " Amar Talic (Coach) "Mary-Beth was an absolute delight to coach. Her drive, passion and excitement for the game showed in every aspect of training, games and off field preparation. Her athletic ability, attack mindedness and tenaciousness made her almost impossible to defend. She is a true goal scorer with an eye for the net and is not afraid to get in the mix and put her body on the line for the benefit of the team and to score a goal. " Colin Phillips (Coach) "Mary Beth is an extremely athletic player. She is very tenacious and has a drive to succeed. Her ball striking ability is very advanced. The first time I saw her training I knew she had great potential. I had the pleasure of working with her for one year before she was selected By Mountain United Football Club, which is one of the top clubs in Vancouver. She has quickly become a leader on her new club team. MB will be an asset to any team she plays for. " Chris Ahern (Coach)
