Hi my name is Ashlynn McGrorty I am currently a Senior at Bethpage High school. My club team is the East Meadow Soccer Club (EMSC ECNL RL 04) Strikers, and I also play on the Bethpage varsity girls soccer team. My goal is to play soccer at the collegiate level while furthering my education. I am a hardworking person, athlete, and student. I put forth as much effort and time into my grades as I would into my athletics.
I have been playing soccer for as long as I can remember. I was always the one a practice running till I couldn't, the one in gym class who got excited when we were running the mile, and or starting the soccer unit. I have always wanted to play at the highest collegiate level possible for me. I am always looking for way to improve my game play, whether it's just watching old game film, going for a run to build endurance, and or doing drills to improve my game play.
As a passionate soccer player, I bring everything thing I have to each and every practice or game I play. What sets me apart from other possible candidates is my versatility to adapt to new situations and my ability to put the team's needs before my own. Being a team player is a value that has been instilled in me since day 1. I was always the player who could play anywhere and succeed. Playing different positions has given me the ability to anticipate my opponents next move . Not limiting myself to one position increased my level of game play tremendously. On my club team I play outside/center back and on the school's varsity team I play forward. Even though I play different positions I still bring the same energy and intensity level to each and every game I play.
I have always been described as an "impact" player. Making differences on and off the field either with my teammates or my community have always been important to me. I have always had a positive impacts on my teammates and friends. I have always been a leader on and off the field. I am always looking for ways to better myself and others. Being able to communicate my differences with others while keeping a positive attitude is always a must for me. I take risks but I do so while keeping my personal values in mind.
My ideal vision is to attend a college where I succeed on the field and in the classroom. I want to find the right fit for me academically and athletically. At the end of the day, I want to make myself,my parents, and my coaches proud while continuing playing the game I Love.
