Katelyn Herbert '22 Recruiting Profile

As a freshman in High School, I was a three sport starting Varsity athlete. I was very proud of this accomplishment as I received an award to honor my athletic capabilities. However, out of all the sports I participate in, soccer is my passion. My love of the game, dedication, hard work, and commitment on and off the field is what led me to be the player I am now.

During my sophomore year, our two starting forwards and highest scoring players on the team were both injured. This was devastating for the team, therefore my coach made a few changes. I was moved from outside mid-field to the forward position. As soon as she told me, I was ready to learn this new assignment for our school team. With my speed and strong foot I knew I was up for the new challenge. At the end of the season, I was the second highest points scorer on the team and started every game as a forward. As an athlete, I am very coachable and a loyal player that has learned to make sacrifices for the betterment of the team. In conjunction with my athletics, I am also an excellent student in a classroom. While competing at a high level of soccer during my school season and outside club team, I managed to keep up with all of my academics. My goal for the future is to focus on my academics in college while playing the sport I have loved for so many years. I know that my willingness to be the best teammate I can be coupled with my dedication on the field and in a classroom would be a benefit to your team and program!
