Hello, my name is Heidi Billings and I am from Fairbanks, Alaska. I am currently about to start my senior year of high school (c/o 2021).
Prior to this year, my sophomore year, my top events were the 100 fly and 100 breast with times of 58.47 and 1:06.77 respectively. Although nearly the entirety of my junior year taper meets were cancelled due to covid, my coach and I decided to emphasize backstroke early in the season and I was able to swim a 57.79, making a Futures cut. I had also swam the 200 backstroke in November where I went 2:05.5, dropping nearly 10 seconds from my previous time from April (2:15.42). In December, I broke the 15-16 Alaska state record in the 400 SCM IM at a small meet in Nome, Alaska. I have four strong strokes and could do well at any event at the collegiate level. I continue to improve in every event and expect to do so for several more years.
Although I have not completely decided on a major, I am leaning towards biochemistry, biology, or human nutrition/ dietetics. I have a cumulative, unweighted GPA of 4.0 throughout my high school years. Although my scheduled date for the ACT was cancelled, I plan on taking the SAT in late August.
I am looking for a competitive swim team where I can challenge myself to be the best I can be combined with an academically strong university. I am seeking a fun, friendly and supportive environment.
